LED Lights

Particularly in northern climates, artificial lighting within greenhouses can be essential to enable 12 month growing. Until recently High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lighting was the only effective option, even though they are incredibly energy-hungry. However LED lighting is maturing rapidly, and close to market readiness for greenhouse use, requiring only a fraction of the electricity and utility cost of HPS lights. We are tracking this technology to judge when adoption is merited.
